I was downtown last night walking around wasting some time before I went to the movies with a girl.. I stopped by a garbage can about 25 feet away from any business door, and I had a quick smoke..

A cop got out of his car and walked up to me and says "Do you know it's illegal to smoke downtown anywhere in the public, except for your car?" WTF!!!!

So I got myself a ticket that could be anywhere from $100 - Up to $750 I've heard..

I just don't understand how it's possible to sell something, tax people for it, and then not allow them to smoke it in a place where it is 100% open air...

The officer told me he thinks it's a bullshit law but he is obligated to enforce it because the department wants them to.. And he even told me that the city is thinking about putting a ban on BOTTLED WATER, and BALLOONS!!! WTF is wrong with these voters...
