modern "hardcore" or screamo as i like to refer to it is basically the equivalent of what straight edge punk was in the 80's. at least ot sems to be what straight edge whiny emo kids listen to these days. the only difference being that straight edges kids' bands from the 80s like minor threat and ss decontrol didn't completely suck. minor threat actuall kicked ass...
