I use my high beams during the day and my touring lamps at night for the very same reason. Splitting traffic or not.

Well... maybe they were touring lights, then, because they were pretty damn bright.
I notice bikes all the time, and have no problem with the amount of light coming from their head-beams... and if you do it, I can only assume that other bikers do the same... but this one was like a small sun.
I know why motorcycles use lights, and I can empathize... most motocycle wrecks go down because people didn't see the motorcycle... but, a point I seemed to not have mentioned earlier was that he also flew by me at +20-30 mph... again, more understandable if you're a cop... not so much if you're not, as I'm sure you'd agree that you really shouldn't be cutting traffic anywhere near that speed under normal circumstances.
Unless you're maybe following a cop doing the same, eh?
