Post some links. I really doubt this is true. unless they were mainstream sites that were pr7 or pr8 and went down a few notches. In this last PR update Google has downgraded 100% of websites PR that got updated, or left the PR the same. There have been no PR gains for any well-established website.
There are those PR gains from newer sites that had 0 pr or a PR of 1 or 2 and rose a little, but most (actual all) sites with high PR stayed the same or went down
