I have paid for their albums, and I've had some copies of their "garage days"... they are hard to find now. And while I agree that they have a right to be mad about losing out on the money... I don't think they are the right "voice" to stand against it when they would be no one without it in the first place.
It was a different time then, since a metal band couldn't get on commercial radio and there was no satellite radio or internet for them to spread their music. Every metal band of that era used to rely on bootleg tape traders to spread their music, but can you really blame them for wanting to cash in when it was warranted?
