The score itself gauges of the amount of capsaicin, the chemical that produces the heat sensation. Here are some common ones:
Bell Peppers = 0 -> 150
Jalapeno's = 3,000 -> 5,000
Chipotle = 10,000 -> 15,000
Tabasco = 30,000 -> 50,000
Thai peppers = 50,000 -> 75,000
Habanero = 100,000 -> 350,000
Savina Habanero = 577,000 (hottest ever)
