people tend to believe whatever they want to believe and give more weight to any info they see or hear or read that is consistent with what they want to believe.
some people like directfiesta for example, couldn't say 3 positive things about the US if someone was holding a gun to his kids head. thats hardly a balanced, fair or even rational mind.
if its true that a major component of intelligence is being able to simultaneously weigh all sides and points of an idea(s) or concept(s), even those which may be diametrically opposed to each other, then pinnacle of stupidity has to someone who does absolutely nothing but sit around, sifting through bits of news or the comments of others, picking out those parts he/she likes and chiming in for no other reason than to say one more time ... "see, i told you so"
