Deep down inside, mankind has the need to interface and interact with our peers and acquaintances. It is the very nature of man.
The internet puts many of us in a weird situation of having nobody in our business to interface with on a regular basis. Chat boards provide that interface.
That being said, this place has been getting dumber, lamer, and more packed with surfers all the time. But that changed the flavor not the need.
