I bought an expired domain a few months back and put a site on it.
It has been crawled by google and some of it is indexed, but when I do a google search on mydomain.com a different .com site comes up first result, my site is second....
when I do a google search on info:mydomain.com only the different .com site comes up, and the choice where it says "Show google's cache of mydomain.com" it leads to a cache of the different .com site
obviously the previous domain owner had done a redirect, but what is google's excuse for keeping that info: wrong when I have had the domain running with no redirect for a couple of months and google has spidered me and indexed me???
The domain is an old one but is not getting any help in the rankings it seems, I almost wonder if a brand new domain might get better treatment from google in this situation??
