People might disagree with me, but the internet is NOT for children period. I don't care why kid's sites there are online, the internet is NOT kid friendly!
If you must allow her one for some IMPORTANT reason, ditch the one she has now, get her a new one and YOU read her mail BEFORE she gets to see it!

I'm the same way... Having 3 kids in my home (5, 7 and 10 years old) non of them are allowed on-line unless I'm right next to them... Adult filters are set and thay can't even log on-line without a password (offcause I'm the only one how know's what that is)
And it will be over my dead body they ever got an e-mail addy
That is the only way to keep the kids away from internet porn..
