If you can say it with a medium dry martini, one olive, shake not stirred casually in your hand, and sound like James Bond...(and we all know which James Bond I mean)...go with stunning. It is a far more elegant word, but requires far more finesse. The fact is, most guys can't pull it off.
If you don't own your own tuxedo, or you do but you call it a "tux," by all means, stay away from stunning.
Otherwise better stick with beautiful so you don't look like an idiot.
