:2cents I think the torrents/saturation issues with this business are bs

Whenever someone mentions that pornotube etc are hurting sales I always wonder wtf they are talking about.

Video sites: I really don't see it. As a porn watcher myself I find these sites do not cater to my taste in decent quality porn. It's all small screen, sub-par sludge that is between 20 seconds long and 7 minutes, but on average 1min. I believe that any semi-serious porn viewer would not visit these sites other than to get a quick fix, albeit one where the video is what 20% of the screen? I'm put off by that, especially with the flashy banners and shit that litter these sites. I want quality and am willing to pay for it, and I believe that people are using this as a scapegoat as to why they aren't doing so well.

Torrents: Does the average porn viewer really know how to use torrents? Sure P2P is an issue, but with the amount of garbage on there and not a hell of a lot of niche choice to go around I don't think it's as big as an issue as people whine about. A lot of the specialist porn torrent sites make you sign up and have a system built on uploading at least half what you download. - So inevitably you are faced with either having to rejoin a site that most of the time locks out new members and is invite only, or you are forced to upload. I really believe that the industry is whining too much about this, and not coming up with a clear solution to at least tackle this SMALL problem.

"Saturation": Sure there's a lot of people promoting porn nowadays but I doubt that you can really blame everyone else because your site sucks, or you suck at progressing and finding new ways to get traffic. I would imagine that most new guys starting in the affiliate biz are put off with a shit start and bail early on. I know through personal experience that if I hadn't made a lot on dating and cams then I'd be dissuaded from starting a blog or tgp, etc. I think we as webmasters and ultimately the controllers of our own financial destiny's need to break the old model mode somewhat and adopt new ideas, and innovations in order to stay on top or at least a good level.

Seems to me like people wanna make over a certain amount per day, and won't like it if they are only making what $200-500 a day? That suits me right down to the ground personally. - What's more, there are so many niches that I'm sure you could ilk out 1k a day easily if you put the work in.

-- This is coming from a dating/cams promoter and a porn viewer who has tried all these sites out, etc.

Thoughts?
