The Google Sitemap Plugin previous to version 3.0 breaks wordpress 2.3, but in a manner that isn't "death" to your blog. Your blog will continue to operate normally, albeit with a small error message on some pages.
However, this break does screw up the posting to a blog by ABPSA, which cannot interpret the error message, and as a result doesn't understand that it has successfully posted to your blog. On each successive run of ABPSA, it will post the same posts over and over again (because it think it is failing each time).
Removing that plugin and replacing it with Google XML Sitemaps version 3.0 or higher resolves the issue.
The "break" in wordpress is that the software is very poorly designed, and allows plugins to get in the middle of core, basic processes (such as posting) in a manner that can break or affect the posting process. Wordpress allows their core processes to get fucked up by third party plugins, a real annoying deal. Version 2.3 (and the upcoming verison 2.4) are looking like major pains in the ass as they redo some of their DB structure and basically go out of their way to break everything in sight.
