you don't even need to put your name on the list, when a telemarketer calls, just interrupt them nicely and say what i just said, they will thank you for your time and remove you... but if you act like a jackass, chances are most telemarketers (a lot don't care about you) will just put you in as a call back for 15 minutes, causing someone ELSE to call you...
just a FYI from a ex-telemarketer.

I have a bank of answering machines in my call center which record call backs from people who have been called and decide to *69 and see who keeps miss calling them..
As you may or may not know, call centers use dialers to automatically detect if a real person picks up, and forwards the call to the next available operator who is ready to pitch you on that crazy mortgage refi deal you have been waiting for. When an answering machine picks up, the dialer hangs up promptly dials the next number looking for a live person.
Many people, mostly lonesome losers in their basement or Mom's basement

, will *69 to see who called and then call back and leave a message something like these:
1. Take me off your fucking list.
2. Check out my new rap song (rap plays for length of message)
3. I got the stuff, meet you at 7-11 in an hour.
4. Hi baby, I miss you, call me.
5. Who is calling me, I would appreciate if you would call me back and not hang up.
6. I'm calling the police.
7. I am calling the BBB (ha ha)
8. I am calling my lawyer (haha, sure you have a lawyer

)
9. This is hot, why don't you stop calling and we can meet up.
10. Have you found Jesus, I can help you, call me we can talk about it.
Note: Only message #1 will actually get your number taken off the list! It also helps to leave your phone number in the message.
