UPDATE!

X-Ray's showed that my dog's heart is fine. The true cause of this cough is tracheal collapse. Her airway has become really thin.

The options were to either treat this with medication right now or send her to a specialist and put a scope down her throat to check for a tumor that might be pressing it shut. Given her age, I went with the medication first.

She is now on three pills and hardly coughs.

The vet said she should also lose weight because fat around her neck is contributing to putting pressure on the trachea.
