I don't think it'll work because in U.S.A, the electricity runs from positive, through neutral, to negative, whereas in Europe it runs from negative straight to positive, or, in reverse.
This is where the term 'chargeback' comes from.
If you plug an american device into a socket in europe, you will chargeback the outlet and cause a shortage in the local switching station.
