some great movies already mentioned in this thread and some others I'll have to check out myself...
I say you can't go wrong with Takashi Miike's gangster films (or any of his films really ;-))
Good call on the Takeshi Kitano movies too
and Miller's Crossing is actually one of my all time favorite gangster movies period...
