But basically, if you have a surfer who comes to your site from one aff, clicks out and way to the abyss and somehow comes back from another link, fuck that original affiliate. If he's hitting the back button without clicking another affiliate link, no overriding cookie should have been set.

Don't know WTF you're talking about.. You say fuck cookies and then you say to set them... huh? Surfers always come back if a site interests them so affiliates need a cookie to still get credit for that sale... More so with physical goods.
The other thing I'd REALLY like to see is the affiliate code tracked in EVERY damn link/page just to give me more of a "trust" feeling. I really hate all these sites that use NATs or custom shit and they conviently leave the affiliate id off some links. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth that they couldn't even go that little extra to build confidence in them that they're not trying to cheat you on some level.
