A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Ohio wants to make homosexual behavior a capital crime punishable by the death penalty.
Merrill Keiser Jr. is a trucker with no political experience, but he hopes to beat fellow Democrat Rep. Sherrod Brown in the May primary. The winner will try to unseat Republican incumbent Sen. Mike DeWine, assuming he wins the GOP primary.

That's not a fair argument. There are always crazies who run for political office in the country. KKK members, communists, Nation of Islam members, etc. They rarely win (if ever). There is a huge difference in a country that has people like that run and get slaughtered in the election vs countries that actually elect people like that.
Still, we are not a country that should be talking about homosexuality and how tolerant we are toward it. We have a political party and percent of our population that believes being gay is purely psychological and a choice. We also had over half our states make it a crime to have homosexual relations until the courts repealed it in 2003. If it wasn't for that court ruling, you could serve up to 15 years in prison for having sex with someone in the same sex.
