This case is one where it is clear that a part of the legal system needs to be changed. Al Sharpton and his like have cried wolf a lot of times so a lot of people are having knee jerk reactions about why people are protesting based on his involvement. Lots of of folks are saying the negros are just rabble rousing.
Well, that's not true here. This isn't about getting those boys off of the hook. It's not about punishing the white guys. The protesters are there because parts of the south has to be prodded into coming into the 21st century. They want a truly fair, balanced and EQUAL justice system. It took this case for that issue to get the attention it deserved.
By protesting and marching it sends a message to the law enforcement, judges and district attorneys that they cannot continue to do the things that have traditionally gone in down there. At least, that is their hope. I don't know if I can blame them.
Can you? I'd love to hear a counter point to this.

I don't blame them. It's cool to fight about freedom and all, I think if people marched/protested more we would live in a better world.
Racism is a pretty hard subject, if you stop and think, slavery still existed a few years ago... not everyone is open minded, and this is why shit starts to hit the fan.
Some people still think that black people are the scum, and some black people like to think they are being taken as scum, so they can always win discussions by saying you're just blaming them for shit because you're a racist.
I will tell you a fucked up history, it happened back in brazil.
I was walking with a friend of mine and a group of negros appeared and started to ask why my friend looked at their eyes. I was like, wtf?
and they continued, saying they were from the hood and they deserved respect, that we were playboys, and now we should give them everything we had.
the dude stole my friends hat. and told him not to look back or try to recover his hat.
when we got home my friend was asked by his mom where was his hat, and he said that it was stolen by this black dude.
his mom happened to know the other dude's mom, and went to his house, when she got there the guy told her that he stole the hat because we were racists with him and called him names.
Ok, now, how does that give you the right to steal? Or threat someone?
In the end we ended up looking bad, even though we didn't do shit, they just hit a taboo, and this is what is happening now.
Anti racism campaigns are everywhere, in the sports, on your tv and newspaper, magazines, but it happens, and will always happen, as long as you have different races, it's not just a black/white thing.
