If someone come running at me in an offensive manner such as these men did, to attack me, and I pull out my weapon to deter their offensive, I am justifiable in drawing my weapon in self defense.

The men in this situation then continued to attack & physically took the firearm away.. that is not self defense (by legal terms) because they were in attack mode PRIOR to the weapon being drawn,, This is not a case of a perp drawing a weapon on an innocent group whom then defended themselves..
(of course from their own perspective they were defending themselves from potentially being shot, but in legal terms, NO, it is NOT self defense.) (hypothetically, I'd think they were more likely thinking "Fuck that motherfucker pull gun on me motherfucker I'll kill him")


In regards to your feelings on the issue, I understand, I didn't disagree with you on those points, just presenting particular elements.

Is there racism in the legal system? YES.
Is it unfair? YES
Is it wrong? YES

Does this mean that 6 young men who tried to kill another young man because he called them a racial slur should get away with a violent crime? NO!
