Rght now, the DOJ is in the process of reviewing the public comment submitted to them. Once they have completed that review, they will respond to the public comment, and explain why they have either adopted or rejected specific suggestions made to them during the public comment period. Following their response to public comment, the DOJ eventually will publish the final new regs to the federal register. From proposing the regs to finalizing them , that whole process can take a year or more.

Assuming the new regs are essentially the same as what has been proposed, the regulations and underlying statute will then be challenged in court (again), and the whole in-court dance will begin again.

Meanwhile, according to what the FBI said at the meeting last week, there were to be several more inspections conducted this week. I'm not aware of any such inspections having occurred this week, but that does not mean that they have not occurred. It could mean that the producers inspected have chosen to keep quiet about the inspections, and kept the news between themselves, their lawyer(s) and the FBI.
