In the late 90's I left the NYPD to work on wallstreet and make real money. Although I have been self employed since, I have always kept a part-time law enforcement job on the side. I was a Constable, an Auxiliary Police Officer and now I work for the Dept. of Public Safety in the Sheriff department's joint ATV task force. 15-20 hours per week, nothing too time consuming. but, it keeps my carry permit in effect and it's something I love.
Now that I am tattooing, I may trade in the badge for a tattoo machine eventually, but we'll have to see.
keeps you grounded, keeps your schedule in line. It's not about the money, but it's good for the resume just in case...
