a few pics showed up today from Burning Man...i love this guy, he takes awesome photos of people at the event and we've now worked together outside of the event and he's an awesome friend too. this year he caught up with me at the Man:

and even at Burning Man you have to fill out a model release form...

it's been nearly a year since i had complete renal failure and started having seizures, gained weight due to the attached metabolic issues and these pictures as compared to past years with patrick's camera were almost hard to look at. i can still see scars from epileptic episodes on my arms and fatty tissue in places i'd never been able to keep it on to save my life (literally) before. at first it made me sad, but then i realised that the scars are just a symbol of my survival through yet another life-threatening bout of kidney disease problems and weight gain is something i've always been jealous of. these pictures represent my biggest blessing in disguise - *this* is the body i've always wanted. i know it's not the one that everyone here met me with, but if you loved me before, i'm confident that you'll still love me + 25 pounds too. if not, well, you may as well just move along.

every year on The Playa reveals something new to me, this year self-discovery was huge...again. <3
