A Tale of Two Sisters (Korean) has one of the scariest scenes I've ever watched. A girl is trying to sleep while some things go bump in the night. Then morning comes... that's when my guard went down, and the next 2 minutes made me and a whole room full of people squirm in our seats and make funny noises.

Have you seen the film i suggested because if not its effective and a good effort for 1980 and the things you mentioned up there sound like a fairy story in comparison!
