I loved that movie...not real scary, but pretty damn creepy and some amazing acting on display.
For me, a movie that affected me when i was younger and still does is "Magic"
that movie coupled with a weird marionette experience gave me a puppet phobia....I fucking hate puppets, mannequins and cigar store indians.
I was able to watch "Dead Silence" and really enjoyed it and can even watch movies like the Puppetmaster series.
I recently picked up the movie "Magic" on DVD and it's lost a little bit of the scare factor, but it still made me think back to being 8 or 9 watching it all alone late at night on HBO.
Another movie that I highly recommend for chill factor, but can get lost in a little bit of pretension and psychobabble is "The Brood", my favorite Cronenberg movie.
