I had an asshole mailman too. He was always doing fucked up shit, like anything that looked like a check might be inside would have a slice taken out of the edge of the envelope, etc. I had to call the post office a few times, it was a big ordeal. Turns out I wasn't the only person in the neighborhood having problems and he's gone now.
One of the first things I did though, before I called the post office, was I changed the mailing address for anything financial and had it sent to a trusted relative's house. Once I was sure the worst thing this guy could do was steal my val pac cupons I started complaining. If you don't have a relative or someone you trust, you can always get a mailboxes etc or a PO box. Mail people seem to have a tendancy to snap so you never know ;)
