To the hardcore, hacking is a sport, similar in a lot of ways to file-sharing. Sneaking around, grabbing information, hiding, running away, coming back, taking what you like and then saying.. :P :P They're not frightened, they're probably fucking with you and having fun, so it's the nature of the motivation that makes it worrying for you guys, they're laughing at you.

They don't care about the morals, they just do it. Have PC, will download.

Just wait till they find out that this piracy battle originated from the minds here at GFY & they start attacking every porn site here.

There are an estimated 30 million BitTorrent users in the world, and they aint all kids. Believe me, now that your plans have leaked to them, things won't be the same anymore. Google News 'Comcast' and see what happened to them when the torrent fans found out them meddling with their torrents recently. If you want an easily understood idea of the kind of backlash you can get when you target that type of demographic, check out what happened when the next-gen encryption keys leaked 09-f9-11-02-9d-74-e3-5b-d8-41-56-c5-63-56-88-c0 and someone tried to censor the information. blog.digg.com/?p=74
Largely thanks to Digg users (those nasty, pro-torrent people), type that key into Google and you get this on the first page: Results 1 - 10 of about 1,220,000 (zero before)
....you try and stop stuff, people get motivated....think about the mindset. It's NOT just about free media, try and tackle this a different way or you are going to lose.

There are roughly 30 million 'torrent guys' and you simply can't generalize in this way, there's too many of them! Ok, the guys that run the sites are more important than the 'other guys' but its called P2P for a reason, everyone plays an important part. You are dealing with a HUGE
community so take care to think of the social elements to your 'battle' too.

Maybe, but like I said, they have millions upon millions of friends.

Yeah, when the status quo is maintained, things will run along at a sensible pace. Once you throw a spanner in, they get motivated. Think about the guy who uses 'Site X' and you shut it down and they jump on all the torrent forums and say "Site X is dead!! omfg!!! What shall I do??"
He gets a list of 10 other sites he never heard of before.
You simply cannot stop this so my suggestion is to make your own torrent sites with your own content, give it away and grab the advertising revenue that's dripping away before it's too late
