No worries, Del Mar Race Track is probably what you're talking about and season ended just last weekend. Someone already mentioned it but since it looks like you're staying in La Jolla, take a quick trip to Little Italy, go to Mona Lisa for dinner it's the best Italian food outside of Italy.
Gaslamp only if you are going clubbing or to catch a Padres Game, other than that not much to do. Have fun I miss San Diego
