well, I wouldn't eat them.... they're carp. Keeping them is a piece of cake. Throw them a handful of fish food once a month, change half the pond water everey other month, and keep the pond free of cane toads. That's about it.
I just finished a major overhaul of the pond today though because the cane toads had taken over and it'd been 2 1/2 years since it was cleaned. Took about a week to drain it, Chlorine bomb it, change out some rocks, and re-establish the bacteria.
But normally, the rule is, don't fuck with it if it ain't broke.
