I do agree that a few scumbags (and one ex-scumbag) at AOL need to be taken out with the rest of the trash. Without extensive knowledge of the situation I'd guess Turner stepped down because he's sick of the bullshit, since he is/was the largest individual shareholder in the company.

Either that or he's slick and smart...I'm sure there was some "book cooking" going on...and when rough times hit and they had such extensive losses that could not be hidden from share holders or investigations, he got out quick enough to seem the hero...as far as a philanthopist, I bet he gives away just enough to allow the tax benefits to justify the loss. That's not a philanthopy in my mind.
With the amount of money he's got he could breath a MASSIVE breath of fresh air into some inner city schools (or whatever)...and not even feel a pinch. Fuck, with the amount of money the public school sytem survives on it probably would be his pocket change.
