I was thinking the same thing... here's my take tho.
Regardless how much $$ you have, you deserve to be happy and if marriage is that, then cool. She came into his life after he was "paid", so he wasn't broke and she knew what he was worth. I think it's different if you're both broke or middle class, then build together
