ASCII characters and BASIC were the key ingredients of the first digitized games, as simplistic as they were.

Upgrading to 10" amber monitors REALLY made them come to life in the early-mid 80's
Yes, I'm old ... but so are the 'newly discovered' ASCII characters cluttering up the board

Actually most of what I see here belongs to the various extended sets. Not sure when all of those were developed, early 80's? mid 80's? I dunno
