PK is right, IP addresses play a VERY small part - only if you have a very large number of sites on the same IP address that deal with either the same content or interlink with each other is is important to split them apart.
A lot of times webmasters think that a dedicated IP address will somehow accelerate their SE rankings, that's not the case. Concentrate on the basics page content, meta tags, and other SEO concepts first.
Finally when you've built up a considerable stable of sites on a single IP should you consider spreading them out.
