Calling the shots = "Well, I, like, totally not like bad things, like, that one time, when that guy was mean to me, and told me I was an ugly whore... I want a song about that!"
Then comes the producer, who writes a song which will appeal to many young teens, and will do his best to convince the "superstar" that that song really is about her.
And ehm... you really think they aren't trained for interviews and such, being told what to say? Just look at the similarities between all interviews with this kind of "superstar" and you might just catch on.
