Wrong. More like they do not want to deal with their problems, so they indulge in what becomes another problem eventually. Nobody drinks to "deal" with their problems. They drink to avoid them or obsess over them, but not to deal with or work them out.
A nice buzz is way better than dealing with "problems."
And I'm not talking about depressed individuals suffering a break-up or death. Life problems.
The worst part of a good alcohol buzz is that it doesn't last. Its temporary. And then you have a hangover.
