He was prime candidate for the board pisses while at epic, and was dishing it out. But now he's genuinely struggling with his career, health, etc- not the right time to start drama with somebody. Especially over (very) small financial dealings. Besides, this isn't about him scamming, or wrongdoing.. it's about his financial difficulties. Very different IMHO...

I think the drama has gotten too raw. Let him come back from all this, and work (privately with him) on a re-payment plan. The man has a family, and your bashing could do a great deal of damage to his rep right now, as he looks for work and tries to re-build.
