Don't worry - nobody will be exploring "six billion trillion miles of nothing" anytime soon.

Meanwhile, there are areas of this planet which are totally unsustainable at varying levels (including industrialized countries), other areas being totally fucked (again, including industrialized countries), around 16,000 kids dying of starvation daily (and increasing), a billion people live on less than $1 per day and many more dying simply thru inadequate and often simple healthcare. The number of "rich" populations (with adequate resources - tho these many be leeched from the poor) is 1 billion, compared to over 5 billion "poor" (with insufficent resources).

As a planet it may appear we have a lot to learn before attempting to transfer this fuck up elsewhere and it may be more appropriate to address that now than speculate in conquering space. Gaining further knowledge of other planets is not an issue - dealing with our own planet leaves plenty work to be done.

Sure.. they may never be a cure for all diseases. Further diseases most likely will be created in the future.
