I will admit that since I have not been to japan and the one US farmer who is allowed to sell real Kobe stock (who just started to slaughter less than a month ago after 10 years of raising them), I have had wagyu (what people assume is Kobe. Just extra fatty and for the most part on par with a quality raised steer on a local farm, yet about 78.00 a pound or more less in price.
