It was a thing of beauty Oystein
Since I was born and raised in Germany soccer was the first sport I actually learned to play and to this day it is still my favorite. After moving to the U.S. I played baseball for 10 years until I went to play in college.
After my first year in college I gave up baseball and switched back to soccer. Ended up coaching the college soccer team for a year after I graduated then played 5 years of men's league til I blew my knee out.
For those of you who have never played or coached the game I am sorry but you will never understand the nuances of the #1 sport in the world. Sure there are younger, more talented players in the game but Beckham brings so much more than talent to the game. His experiences on the world wide soccer stage can be matched by very few in the game today. He is the type player that raises the level of play of every one of his teammates.
