The best way has been answered already, related one way links from a older site with PR is by far the best way.

A friend and I did some testing on this last month. We created a site each with over 5,000 pages to be indexed. I went the cheap way and got DIR links he bought a couple of good one way links relevant to the site.

Results in 22 days:

Me... 200 pages indexed lucky to get 30 people a day on the site, first indexed page took 3 days.

Him.. 2000+ pages indexed and over 300 people a day, first indexed page showed up under 24 hours.

Needless to say which way I go when creating a new site now
