I love this part
1947-48: U.S. backs Palestine partition plan. Israel established. U.S. declines to press Israel to allow expelled Palestinians to return.
Oh really? So suddenly the US decided to create Israel and thus it was so?
Not so much. Study your fucking history already.
The first wave of Jewish immigration to Israel started in 1891, increased through out the years, and then exploded in the 1940s for the most obvious of reasons.
And because none of you understand history, you might be surpised to learn that this entire region was controled by whom prior to 1946? Not the US.... Have you ever heard of the "British Mandate of Palestine"?
Here's a nice litlle quote....
The award of the mandates was delayed as a result of the United States' suspicions regarding Britain's colonial ambitions and similar reservations held by Italy about France's intentions. France in turn refused to reach a settlement over Palestine until its own mandate in Syria became final. According to Louis,Together with the American protests against the issuance of mandates these triangular quarrels between the Italians, French, and British explain why the A mandates did not come into force until nearly four years after the signing of the Peace Treaty....

We can debate this until we are blue in the face. All of this happened long before any of us were born. All of this seems to be because of a damn plot of land. If we could take Israel and move to - say - Cananda.... Would that really change anything? Best case their respective govenments would just fight amoung each other....
