The last set I played was very much influenced by Disco, Acid Techno, Electro, House, EBM, Glitch, Minimal and Psytrance. Even NRG or Freestyle. Techno is not dead. For one thing, it's just a word, and has taken on meanings beyond the original. That's just one thing. The other is that minimal (techno) is almost dead from popularity. This is a stream which (I believe) came from Germany shortly after the Detroit scene, and has thrived underground for years. The advent of computers has made minimal even more chic and appealing. Without the original Detroit vibe + Germany electronic music would not exist as we know it. Minimal today to me seems more like chess. I personally don't like House and Trance cliches as much, but if it's good, it's good! Anyone else think it's all disco anyway?
