Ha, I had a moped when I was like 13 in NJ.

I had a motor cycle license in CA many years ago. Back then the process was you take the written test and you get a permit, and then in two months or so you go and take the driving test. The driving test was pretty easy, drive around some cones, stop the bike, park it; Really easy.

In AZ I took the written test, and then took a two day class just to make sure i was up to speed on riding a bike. The two day class - highly reocmended if you've never really driven a bike on a regular basis - is highly recomended. The class counted as passing the driving test.

Having a bike in Calfiornia in the traffic is a great way to avoid traffic. Besides being able to ride inbetween lanes, it's much easier to cruise through traffic, and you can also use the car pool lane.
