That's a great theory, and the one our genius president is trying to carry out. Let's be the biggest bully on the schoolyard, and hope to hell all the little guys don't band together and kick the shit out of us.
You can't rule by fear forever. And if anyone thinks we're still in Iraq and Afghanistan because of terrorism, they haven't done much reading or paying attention to the financial benefits of these "wars" and who's reaping the rewards.
