Err... in the case of me and my girlfriend, we have quite a bit in common. A love for 19th century and early 20th century Russian and English literature, an interest in politics, a severe dislike for contemporary mainstream culture, and rather a lot more.
Sure, the average 16 year old is a shallow moron. The same, however, goes for the average 26 year old, the average 36 year old, or the average 46 year old. Most people are mindless drones who gobble up the garbage that popular television serves them and have no insight whatsoever in the very world around them.
I am honestly surprised that anyone who frequents GFY, of all things, can still harbour the delusion that age somehow begets maturity.
