Like you need to go to a convention to hear the idiots speak. I've been on GFY since the early days and I've noticed a dramatic decline in posts from reps who have a clue. There are a few guys who still post, but the majority of them are B-O-A-R-D-T-R-A-C-K-E-R (banned word? Why not just ban [Aa-Zz] and get it over with, I doubt anyone would even notice) whores who don't even ready the thread title, never mind the content of the thread. They just get in there and say "CHECK OUT PROGRAM/HOST X, HIT ME UP FOR A KILLER DEAL OUR CONVERSIONS ARE OFF THE HOOOOOK" - And lucky for them there are enough idiots here who will jump on any bandwagon to make themselves look good. They'll jack up their credit card to book their flight and hotel to the convention and try their best to give off an air of professionalism even after their 13th free jack and coke (THANK YOU SPONSOR X YOUR CONVERSIONS ARE OFF THE HOOOOK, I'VE BEEN IN THE ADULT GAME SINCE WAAAY BACK IN '06 AND THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN).
The majority of affiliate reps IMO are just paid publicity for the program, intended to go out and show people a good time, given little training or knowledge about the company they are representing. Their job is to make the program they represent look cool, and we all know that in this industry looking cool is what matters most to the vast majority. Still blows me away (no pun intended) how many people can handle that much smoke up their ass without coughing.
I suppose the same could be said about the hosts too. I see more and more of these reseller idiots popping up promoting their hosting company with a 2 week old domain name, or guys like baddog who represent an "established" host but have absolutely _NO_ clue what they are talking about. Sorry to single you out dude but you should stick to selling and steer WAAAAAAAY clear of any technical threads.
The moral of the story? Adult internet is joe dipshit's entry into the "Hollywood lifestyle" for the price of a shitty domain name. So many of you put your public persona so far in front of your business it's retarded.
And if you want to check what's important on GFY, you go and check the top viewed threads for the week here and I'm fairly confident (I haven't checked) that it will be threads like "BRITTANY SPEARS QUAD ANAL WITH THE COREY'S AND THOSE TWO GUYS FROM 90210 (pixxxxxx) " or "LINDSAY LOHAN CHUGS 7 COCKS IN A ROW (pixxxxxx)" . That pretty much sums up "Joe GFY" (or is it Bro GFY). Don't get me wrong, I've met many people from GFY at shows and at least 50% of you kick ass. It's the other 50% I am talking about. You guys SUCK.
