Always remember the first time I had a drink and chatted with a neighbor who was an elderly lady. At that time, had no idea what she did professionally and it turned out she is an international jurist.
So, we chatted a bit about legal systems internationally and turns out that was her speciality - resolving international disputes, jurisdictional problems, border disputes, human rights issues etc both as a judge and arbitrator.
This was a *very* balanced lady who chose words carefully and was obviously very good at seeing both sides. When we hit on the US justice system the initial reaction was a rolling of eyes

- tho she did then expand on the pro's and con's - but was obviously not impressed.
