there was a show on tv about Boeing i think, or airline safety or plane construction or whatever the fuck... they showed a plane, i believe it was a DC-10 and they had jacks under the end of each wing pushing up. the wings flexed well above the height of the fuselage. it was unreal. then when they broke... they didn't just crumple, the exploded. it was really cool. unbelievable strength.
it put my mind at ease because if anyone here flys a lot, they might have noticed that the 777 wings are pretty floppy when you are in flight.
