Porn Films Banned In Hotel Chain's Rooms
A leading hotel chain is to scrap adult TV on its in-room television sets, it has been revealed.
Travelodge said it was getting rid of pay-per-view porn channels to "appeal to the ever-growing number of families" staying in its budget hotels.
The pay-per-view content and conventional televisions will be replaced by a £10m roll-out of new flat screen digital TVs.
These will have 18 free, family-friendly channels.
Travelodge chief operating officer Guy Parsons said the chain had an ever-increasing number of families staying there, which meant it was "appropriate" to remove adult TV.
He explained: "Our other customers tell us that they would prefer to use a hotel without adult content available so we have responded to meet their needs."
Travelodge believes that this move, along with its recent pledge on a smoking ban in all rooms, will attract more customers in the long term.
